The organizational ambition of the project is to maintain visual and formal continuity between adjacent spaces that are hermetically sealed from one another in an effort to promote an integrated and mediated programmatic progression through varying climatic zones. The formal vocabulary of the 90-degree circular cone enables the stitching of normative vertical and horizontal planes (turning of corners in three dimensions) while maintaining tangency and surface continuity. The intersection of the cones, along with their rotationally symmetrical arrangement, creates sectional spatial continuity (weaving of spaces in 3D), resulting in the nesting of volumes within one another (e.g. laboratory of the desert house becomes a sealed mezzanine level overlooking the tropical house below it, while simultaneously open to the public desert house on the lower level).
