Chrysalis

Chrysalis uses cones, cylinders, and planes trimmed along their (straight) ruling lines and placed tangent to each other to define an enclosed volume with a smooth and continuous surface. Geodesic lines drawn on this continuous surface subdivide it into “geodesic planks” which become straight and parallel when unrolled to a plane.
